from Paper Chasing (Par-Le, 1997)

Here are a couple of obscure joints that Pimp C did with Lake Charles, LA group X-Mob from their final album Paper Chasing. Pimp and X-Mob have a long history of working together, which started in 1995 when he shared production duties on their second album Ghetto Mail with Mannie Fresh. Despite working on the majority of that album, “Good Times” and “Mob or Die” are the only tracks that Pimp touched on Paper Chasing.

Sadly, Pimp doesn’t drop any verses on either track. He does, however, produce the beats and sing the hooks, so I think that more than makes up for it. It’s a damn shame that there aren’t more collaborations between Pimp and X-Mob available, since his production aesthetic fits them like a glove.
